Manufacturing systems are complicated and necessitate analytical thinking and decision-making skills. It takes inputs from the outside world about product and service conceptions, orders, materials, and energy, responds with a set of resources, turns materials or components into the shape needed or desired by a client, and functions under physical, financial, human, and political restrictions. Manufacturing has a central position in the broader plan of the manufacturing system, where it is supported by systems of manufacturing support, quality control, material handling, and automation control. The manufacturing sector is closely connected with the engineering and industrial design. Modern manufacturing includes all intermediate processes required in the production and integration of a product's components.
This book elucidates the concepts and innovative models around prospective developments with respect to manufacturing systems. It describes in detail the various concepts and theories related to system concepts in manufacturing system, object oriented system techniques, approach to problem solving and design of manufacturing system. It also deals with powder metallurgy, processing of ceramics, metal working and cutting tool technology. The topics included in this book are of utmost significance and bound to provide incredible insights to readers. For someone with an interest and eye for detail, this book covers the most significant developments related to the field of manufacturing systems.
